Throughout his childhood, when not playing Nintendo, Alex spent a lot of time learning martial arts, helping teach others as an assistant instructor while in middle school. Furthermore, his journey continued through college, where he secured his second dan black belt, sharing his knowledge across various age groups.
In addition to martial arts, Alex has a long history working in the hospitality industry. He worked his way from the bottom up in the industry, eventually to become Assistant General Manager at a popular Irish Pub in his hometown. There, he managed daily operations and played a pivotal role in ensuring customer satisfaction. His involvement extended to organizing significant events like St. Patrick’s Day and Fourth of July celebrations in collaboration with the Boys and Girls Club of Peoria, focusing on fundraising efforts.
Transitioning from hospitality, Alex found his calling at Suburban K9, where his adeptness in teaching and customer service flourished in dog training. Apart from his professional endeavors, Alex has contributed to the Monona Grove High School Boys Swimming Team, emphasizing workouts and flexibility. His love for the outdoors is evident through camping, hiking, backpacking, and canoeing adventures with his family and Golden Retriever. Alex’s academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and a Project Management Certification from Madison College.
