Day #1
Daisy is doing amazing, and she did great during the car ride home. Her trainer, Stephanie, started working with her heel, and sits already. Daisy does have a hard time with noises as they are very hard distractions and is very interested in what the other dogs are doing. She is doing wonderful at reducing her jumping and mouthiness. After a full evening of training, she is officially tuckered out from the long day!!
Day #3
Daisy is such a sweet girl! We have worked on her heel with different distractions such as cars, people, and dogs. Hard distractions seem to be anything that moves quickly or any unexpected loud noise, such as a car driving by. Stephanie and Daisy have been working hard on sit and down, and she is getting it very quickly! Soon we will work on these commands, with distractions, and we will start the stay command. We cannot wait to continue working with Daisy!
Day #5
Daisy is doing great with her heel, sit, and down! She no longer pulls, barks or lunges while walking! Daisy and Stephany have started working on her stay command. But, several distractions are difficult for Daisy, especially other dogs, people, and loud noises. She has also been working on implementing her stays while in her kennel, so she doesn’t bolt out of the door when it opens. She’s also started to get more comfortable with the big dogs as she was unsure of them at first!
Day #7
We have been working with Daisy for a week, and she is doing fantastic! Stephany has used her in lessons to pass dogs and socialize them. Her obedience and stays are wonderful with all the distractions at home, and they are also great in public. The hardest thing for Daisy right now is greeting new people that walk up to her. So Stephany has been working with her to not bark when her husband comes home, and she is showing a lot of improvement. We have been working hard on starting her come command on the leash and then advancing her to off-leash commands using dogs, people, and treats as distractions. Daisy has also learned a “leave it” command, which was very hard at first!
Day #9
Daisy has been doing great with door work! No barking at knocking or the doorbell. She has gotten so much more comfortable playing and being around other dogs. Her stays and comes with dogs around has also improved a lot! She does wonderful in the car and when in her kennel at night with no barking, whining, or pawing. She has been wonderful with stays, even with distractions in public.
Day #12
Daisy has been a wonderful guest, and in just two days, she will be going home! She is no longer jumping on people/furniture, lunging, or nipping! She has been doing wonderful on her stays and comes! Her stay times average about 30-45 minutes, and her ‘come’ distance at about 100 feet with distractions (people, dogs, treats, toys, noises)! Stephany and Daisy will be showing off what they learned in a two-hour backyard go home review!
Day #14
Miss Daisy gets to go home tomorrow!!! The go-home lesson will be two hours long, showing her family everything that she has learned! She has been amazing on the walks and in lessons passing dogs, people, carts, ducks, bikes, vehicles, and kids. Stephany has brought Daisy to Home Depot, Lowes, many fun parks, and different neighborhoods. Occasionally she gets over excited by dogs and other people passing by, but she’s easily corrected. She loves her kennel and sleeps wonderfully through the night without a peep! Miss Daisy also does a wonderful job of playing with other dogs (big and small) and new people!
