To say we did our research is an understatement. We wanted to make sure that our dog, Grey, would be in an environment where she would be comfortable, cared for and trained with positive reinforcement and without fear. I own my own dog daycare/boarding facility and I have high expectations regarding care, comfort and respect for dogs. One of our clients at our daycare has one of the most well behaved, well trained dogs I've ever met. I asked her parents where their dog was trained and enthusiastically they mentioned Suburban K9. I knew this would be the experience we were looking for. Even better, Grey would be a guest in her trainer's home. The more we read about Suburban K9, the more I loved it and the more of my personal clients I found who also used the program. All of my clients who have used the program are extremely well behaved, sweet dogs. Our 4 month old rescue, Grey, had a problem nipping, counter surfing, jumping on guests and all of the other traits of an untrained puppy. We tried to work with her but were lost when it came to training. We decided on the 2 Week Board and Train with our trainer LaShaunti. Grey has been home a few days now from her stay and she is a completely different dog, in a good way. For the first time since rescuing our girl we were able to sit down as a family without Grey jumping on the table and stealing our food. Grey will stay in a down/stay position and we are able to answer the door and greet guests. We even sat on the couch and had popcorn during a movie night and she sat next to us without nibbling on our young children or grabbing a kernel for herself. It's incredible! LaShaunti was an absolute pleasure to work with. She has a very caring and calm demeanor and you can tell that training dogs is her life's passion. Every other day she would send photo/video updates to let us know how she was progressing which was extremely comforting. It was so cool to see Grey sitting at Home Depot or the Mall in a down/stay position without someone holding the end of the leash. We couldn't believe Grey's control! After the two weeks, LaShaunti came back to drop off Grey and teach us what Grey learned and how to continue to grow her training. She has a straight forward approach which I appreciate greatly. It was fun to talk with her about our dog and you could tell she loved her time working with Grey. We enjoyed working with her so much that we decided to continue 10 in home sessions with her over the course of the next year. This will help correct and train any new habits Grey may form in her teenage years and into adulthood. Amber worked with us and our 7 month old puppy earlier this year (August), doing the 2 week board and train. We're now a few months out of the initial training and I cannot express how incredible the experience has been. During the board/train, we received great updates and communication (including pictures!) . Amber really took the time to listen to our specific needs and tailor her program to us and our dog - noting what our goals were and specific issues that come up in our lifestyle, etc. Upon coming home, we've had our follow up lessons (so helpful) and Amber is so wonderful in answering any questions that come up or providing advice/guidance on things that come up. Our pup (now 11 months old) gets to enjoy off leash walks through the trails, running free in fields, and joining us out at bars/restaurants. We truly cannot imagine a better trainer and feel so grateful that we worked with this company, and specifically Amber. If you're considering training, definitely go for it! You will be so glad you did.

Let me start my saying.... hands down 5+++ stars! STOP LOOKING ANY FURTHER FOR A TRAINER!! This is your stop! We had the wonderful Twila as our trainer (for both me and my pup Luna). I cannot even begin to share all of our success. Luna was 10 months old when we started the 2 week board and train with Twila. I missed Luna like the moment she left. And even cried the second day she was gone. But Twila made me feel so comfortable and reassured me that Luna was in good hands and was safe. All that outta the way... Luna is stubborn, whiney, and sassy. She's got an attitude for days and does things on her own time, and gives the funniest side eye ever! Twila would send us updates and pics of some of the daily activities. So when Luna came back to me.... I was like WOWWW!!! Is this the same dog!?. Like for real!!! Our main goal for Luna was loose leash walk and being more patient when we would give attention to our other doggy when we would get home. She was super rambunctious and shes quite strong. Luna was an attention hog. And would sometimes get aggressive and 'play bite' when she wanted attention back from us petting our other dog. 'Play bite'... well.. that hurts! So when I walked Luna (under the supervision of Twila), it was like a completely different dog. (Side note, Luna caused me a dislocated shoulder, and a torn rotator cuff). So naturally I was afraid to walk Luna. But I did, and Luna was fantastic. Like completely a different dog. She was/is still super skiddish, (anxiety), and she is very easily distracted. She walked great on the loose leash with me for the first time. Heel and stopping, sitting and loose leash, and stay. Twila gave us homework and when she came back a week later for a follow up, she gave me more tips and evaluated us and how we did on our homework. (Naturally the student (Luna) is gonna behave better when the teacher is around). The specific homework was really helpful. Then fast forward 2 weeks for our last follow up---- omggg!!! Luna had a complete melt down on one of our walks (during homework time) as she was completely freaking out when some larger dogs were barking at her behind a fence and loud noises as we were walking. She nearly ran into the street, and I literally was like running trying to control her. When Twila took us to the same spot of Luna's meltdown, she showed me exactly how to overcome that hurdle, and to keep Luna calm and get her back on track. My issue is that I felt bad for yelling at Luna, or having to be so hard on her, or be strict, but I realized I AM THE BOSS, not Luna. I had to learn to stand firm! And Luna feeds on our energy. Nonetheless, the best choice for us was definitely Suburban K9, and Twila is your gal! She was very responsive and answered all my questions and concerns. Super patient with me and that's so important to me. I felt I had all the support I needed. Look no further! Your choice is here.

Addison is absolutely fantastic and has made such a difference in a very short period of time with our 10 month old, Ranger. Ranger was adopted just after Christmas and although a good boy overall, he did have some issues (reactivity, resource guarding, nipping). We have a two year old child that is half Ranger’s size and doesn’t fully grasp boundaries yet. Under those circumstances, we felt that it was imperative that we get Ranger into training and tackle any issues that he may have immediately. We opted to do the 2 week board and train with Suburban K9/Addison and I cannot even begin to tell you just how much of a dramatic difference it made. It was like night and day, and exceeded all expectations. We went from having a good dog to a great dog. Instant obedience, no more leash pulling, and substantial improvement in his comfort with other dogs and reactivity -on leash and off. I will say that while the board and train did wonders for Ranger, it is not a fix all. Two weeks is a relatively short period of time for any dog, but we were just so impressed with what Addison was able to accomplish that we have continued our training sessions with him even after board and train. We see improvement in Ranger every single time we have Addison out to work with him/ us. I have taken Ranger out and about as part of our daily training walks and it is always such a source of pride when folks comment on how wonderful and well behaved he is. I also have so much more trust with him playing with our daughter without knocking her over or doing any puppy nips. He is great with her and they have become fast friends. I can not say enough good things about Addison and Suburban K9- they are a great team and we have really enjoyed working with Addison in particular and getting to know him. Addison is very warm, patient and informative. We have all learned so much from working with him, and I highly recommend.

Nick is the man! We've worked with him for a board / train program and individual house calls. He always his time explaining and training our mini-bernadoodle. Rebecca is an amazing trainer. Caring, compassionate with just the right blend of disiplene and empathy. We sent our Aussie Shepard/Terrier mix to her for a full 2 weeks training course at her homer. Bear is full of energy but she was able to teach him good behavious that has stayed wityh him months afte. Highly recommended.

We are over the moon with our puppy’s behavior after his board & train. Guido is a Lagotto Romagnolo. This is a breed you don’t hear about every day but we fell in love with his looks and personality. He’s also hypoallergenic, another plus. He will be 7 months old in 5 days. He was just over 5 months when we realized that we had a very strong willed pup. We had to call in reinforcements. Because Lagotto’s are “working” dogs (known in Europe for truffle hunting), Guido needs a lot of brain work. He’s tired if his brain is tired so he took to training very well. His brain is very active when training, he loves that! This breed is so eager to please, he loves verbal praise & pets for a job well done. Kati Del Pozo from Suburban K9 is everything we needed and more! She had experience in dealing with Lagottos which is more than I can say for other trainers we tried and even Guido’s vet. We can not recommend her or this board & train program enough. The two weeks allows your dog to be immersed in training in someone else’s home with their family & not in a kennel with a ton of other dogs. In a home they are faced with the same training opportunities as they are in your own home. It’s a very well rounded training. When your pup comes home, they’re so well behaved, it’s a dream. That was great inspiration for us to keep the training going ourselves. We never feel like we’re alone because Kati makes herself so available to us between our follow up visits and being able to reach out anytime with questions. Highly Recommend!

Thank goodness for Suburban K9 and our wonderful trainer Kati! We had researched German Shepherds before bringing Wolfie into our family, however I’m not sure any amount of research could prepare me for owning a German Shepherd puppy! While our puppy is very sweet natured, he is also headstrong and will chew or destroy things if/when he gets bored. He was also getting bigger by the minute and pushing boundaries. I heard about Suburban K9 on the playground during school pick up and when the other mom said “after 2 weeks away with a trainer it was like she had a new puppy” I knew that was what we needed. Enter Kati the Dog whisperer! After 2 weeks with Kati, during which she emailed pictures and updates, Wolfie came home a MUCH better behaved boy! Kati has been so amazing at answering all of our questions, and teaching us techniques. She has always been available by email or text, and it’s clear that she loves dogs and loves her job. Most importantly, our dog LOVES her! We’ve even boarded him with her for the weekend and it was so nice to know that our boy was being loved, cared for, played with and trained while we were away. Obviously I can’t say enough wonderful things about Kati! Thanks to her, I can confidently walk my dog and have lovely walk instead of fearing I’m going to get dragged into the pond. Solstice with the mostest! My overexcited pitty solstice is a different dog after the 3 week board and train. And in an amazing way! Suburban k9 was updating me every step of the way and they know what they are doing. She can now walk correctly, Drop objects, come On command, is good off leash, and she listens. I have had sol since 8 weeks and have never had a dog on my own. She has always been a handful. But now she is truly enjoyable and an even better dog. Shelby trained my standard poodle puppy Lucy at her “In home board and train” program. She did a great job and Lucy came back to us much better than she left. It’s a continuous process when they are puppies and Shelby was available for additional training for us and Lucy. We are very happy with the results. We highly recommend Shelby and Suburban K9.

I sent my anxious new puppy to the two week boot camp training with Molly at Suburban K9. I was definitely nervous sending him away for so long but it's been almost 20 years since I've had a puppy and was feeling a bit overwhelmed. Shortly after booking I had some concerns about training methods and discussed with Molly. I really appreciated that she wanted to ensure I was comfortable and offered other suggestions. Communication was great and I’m so happy to say my pup came home so much more confident with both people and other dogs. He has a good foundation that we’ve continued to build on with Molly’s assistance . She offered helpful suggestions during our follow up sessions and it made me happy to see how excited Walter was to get to see her again. He also got to spend some time with Haley in Orlando. It was great for him to get some diverse experiences and interact with other dogs. I had nothing but positive experiences with her as well. I would definitely recommend!

We were thrilled with the training that Evan and K9 provided our 3 year old Mini-Labradoodle. In the 2 weeks that Evan had her, he trained her to be a very well behaved dog that obeys commands like sit, down, stay, heel and to be very well behaved when others are around. Additionally, I can now play fetch with her unleashed in open public areas with her obeying my commands. Most impressive, he provided her the foundational skills that has allowed her to pass the official Service Dog training which made it very easy for me to do with her after the K-9 training. I would highly recommend Evan and K-9.

She was a handful before we started training, but now he is a much more well-behaved and obedient dog. Amber is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. They also took the time to get to know my dog individually and tailor the training to her specific needs. In just a few weeks, she learned to sit, stay, come, and walk nicely on a leash. She also learned how to control her impulses and behave better in public. OH MY GOSH! What an incredible job Cara did with our Boxer pup, Penny! When she left on the board and train, Penny had picked up some training but when she returned…WOW! She made so much progress and we are so excited to continue on with her over the next year as Penny progresses into working as a service dog. Penny’s focus has improved so much and her demeanour has not changed one bit.We are so pleased with the work Cara and the Team at Suburban K9 did with our Penny! The Board and Train program works wonderfully as it is designed and the progress Penny made was worth every penny (no pun intended). We 100% recommend Suburban K9 for all your training needs!

Drex had a great time with his trainer Alex. He came in at 7.5 months, and needed all his basic training. We were in Indianapolis for a family emergency for a few months and lost the time to train our hard headed puppy. I choose suburban k9 at first because they were way more responsive to e mails and questions I had compared to other board and trains. That responsiveness continued over the training, with daily emails and pictures. After two weeks he came back to us a perfect pup and they gave us the tools we needed to keep it going. When it came to our follow up appointments, they worked with our schedule and even did one over zoom once we were back home across the country. Alex was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to and seemed open to work whatever problem we may be having. You can tell they love dogs, including mine!
