Some consider themselves to be cat people while others consider themselves to be dog people; Rachel grew up in households with both dogs and cats so she considers herself to be a “bipartisan” animal lover. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, she loved taking advantage of opportunities that appealed to her affinity for animals, including taking an intensive Animal Behavior course that led to some incredible encounters with elephants, giraffes, monkeys, and more. She has been a vegetarian for nearly 4 years and is always eager to help spread awareness and education regarding the benefits and feasibility of a plant-based lifestyle.
She attended college in Boston and obtained a degree in Writing, Literature, & Publishing. After developing a well-rounded background from working in jobs in various industries, including marketing/PR, recruiting, and even a cemetery, Rachel discovered her passion for HR a few years ago and has remained committed to following that path since. She is thrilled to bring her diverse experience, skills, and passion for affecting positive change in the workplace to the Suburban K-9 team! As for her own fur babies, she currently has a cat named Waffle but also helps take care of her grandmother’s dog, Jody (pictured)via walks and adventures throughout the city, and also squeezes in plenty of play time with her “little sister,” a Goldendoodle named Copper.
