Some consider themselves to be cat people, while others consider themselves to be dog people; Rachel grew up in households with both, so she considers herself a “bipartisan” animal lover.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, she loved taking advantage of opportunities that appealed to her affinity for animals, including taking an intensive Animal Behavior course that led to some incredible encounters with elephants, giraffes, monkeys, and more. She has been a vegetarian for nearly four years, so she is eager to help spread awareness regarding the benefits and feasibility of a plant-based lifestyle.
Rachel attended college in Boston and obtained a degree in Writing, Literature, & Publishing. After developing a well-rounded background from working in various industries, including marketing/PR, recruiting, and even a cemetery, Rachel discovered her passion for HR a few years ago and has remained committed to following that path since. She is thrilled to bring her diverse experience, skills, and passion for a positive change in the workplace to the Suburban K-9 team!
As for her own fur babies, she currently only has a cat named Waffle but also helps take care of her grandmother’s dog, Jody. They go on a ton of walks and love exploring the city. You can also find Rachel squeezing in plenty of playtime with her “little sister,” a Goldendoodle named Copper.
