Solstice with the mostest! My overexcited pitty solstice is a different dog after the 3 week board and train. And in an amazing way! Suburban k9 was updating me every step of the way and they know what they are doing. She can now walk correctly, Drop objects, come On command, is good off leash, and she listens. I have had sol since 8 weeks and have never had a dog on my own. She has always been a handful. But now she is truly enjoyable and an even better dog. I will be back to suburban k9 for more dogs and highly recommend. Thank you to Katie who had the patience I didn’t. But also the techniques. Also shout out to Maggie. An enjoyable experience all Around and worth the money. Sol is an amazing dog more than ever. Thanks suburban k9!! 😊😊😊

Kati is an outstanding dog trainer! We own a 1.5-year-old German Shepherd who developed reactivity after a traumatic event in our new apartment. Additionally, our 3-year-old dog started showing reactive behaviors and resource guarding towards our German Shepherd. We opted for the in-home training program, which effectively addressed both issues. Kati's approach is a perfect blend of friendliness and firmness. She excels in listening to our concerns, actively devising solutions, and offering techniques specifically designed for our dogs and us as owners. Chicago’s loss is Madison’s gain! If you get the opportunity to have Kati Del Pozo as your dog trainer, you are the luckiest. Last year at this time our German Shepard puppy Wolfie was rapidly spiraling out of control. He was counter surfing, running from the house, pulling us down the street when we “walked” him (he was really walking us!). And after an attempted walk on a rainy day when he came close to dragging me into a pond after he charged some geese…well I was done. A parent in the school pick up line mentioned Suburban K9 and how great it was for their puppy, and I was sold. My husband was hesitant about sending the 16 week puppy away for the puppy package; but after Wolfie grabbed a butcher’s knife off the kitchen island and was charging around the house with the blade out…he relented. Kati is the dog whisperer! Wolfie came back a changed pup. Kati is firm, but kind and Wolfie ADORES her. We came to adore her as well. Wolfie is the best boy now. He listens to commands, doesn’t rush out of the house, doesn’t nip or steal food, and because he doesn’t pull or chase after geese or squirrels anymore…our walks are pleasant! I’ll probably end up driving up to Madison if we need to board our dog. I can not imagine trusting him to anyone else!

We love Katy and Suburban K9! Our experience has been nothing but wonderful. Katy’s patience with us and knowledge of training and dog behavior has changed our home. Katy clearly laid out homework and kept us informed on her work, our dogs progress has been steady, obvious, and so rewarding.

My parents rescued a 2 year old German Shepard from their local animal control after being abandoned and found on a busy street. They saved her from being put down due to no one claiming her. Bringing her home, our biggest concern was for Ginger meeting and getting along with our other dogs Daisy and Coco. At that point we realized we needed help. I contacted Suburban K9 to do in home training. Kati from Suburban K9 helped us a lot with the challenges Ginger had, and also introducing her to Daisy & Coco. She worked on obedience, resource guarding, leash walking, reactive toward dogs and socialization. We can’t emphasize enough good things about our experience with Suburban K9 and Kati Del Pozo. We are so pleased with the training that Kati provided us. She was wonderful at guiding us with her expertise through the training sessions. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for training for their pet.

Love this company and especially Kati! We have a 1.5 year old Golden Doodle who participated in the board and train plus beginning when he was only a few months old. I just have to say that he is now the best behaved dog that we have ever owned! After the board and train, Kati comes out to work with you and your pup together to help ensure that the training transfers to the owners. She’s always accessible by phone if I have any follow up questions. She is so friendly and fantastic with the dogs. Our pup gets all googly-eyed the moment he sees her. I 100% recommend Kati and Suburban k9.

When we first started working with Kati, we had two dogs, Soot, who is an overly anxious and very attached 7 year old German Shepherd mix and Maisy who was a 14 year old Lab mix. Separation anxiety, challenges with accidents in the house, counter surfing were just a few of our issues. 2 months in, Maisy passed away unexpectedly just as we were making really good progress. All of us were heartbroken, including Soot. Her behavior went off track, we had sleepless nights as she learned to sleep in her crate by herself without Maisy in the house. She cried night after night. We almost gave up on her, but Kati encouraged us to keep to the routine she helped us to establish. She has now gotten through the worst and we couldn’t be more proud of her. She is turning into the dog we always knew she could be, that we didn’t know how to help. Soot’s life is so much more positive than it used to be because we are all on the same page. Thanks Kati for helping Soot and Maisy through this time, and us too!

My dog Penny and I have been working with Suburban K9 (specifically Kati) for the past 8 months, and it has far exceeded my expectations! Penny is a rescue puppy we adopted during COVID, and she started showing reactive behavior. We tried training her on our own, did other online courses, etc. but nothing helped. All that changed when we started working with Kati - walking Penny no longer causes us stress, her obedience is 10x better, we've learned how to properly (and safely) intro her to other dogs, and we can even take her to public places now. Kati works with Penny on behaviors that are conducive to our lifestyle/training goals, she is super patient with our stubborn pup, and always has a great attitude. Could not recommend Kati or Suburban K9 more!

Kati was FABULOUS in helping both our 16 week beagle puppy and our family with a consistent and clear training plan. Her communication is excellent and she was able to explain not only the philosophy behind the moves she was making to train our pup, but also modeled and helped us transfer the practices after the week long board and train. We got several pictures and updates during the week away and felt very supported both during and after the follow up training.

We used Lilli with Suburban K9 in Pembroke Pines, FL. I can’t say enough good things about Lilli. I called her requesting a board and train and I felt like among the multiple trainers I reached out to around the time she was the only one to take the time to understand our dog and our situation and tailor a training program specifically for him. We did 5 hour-long lessons leading up to a 2-week board and train and then 2 follow up lessons. She was understanding, patient and extremely knowledgeable and trained us along with our dog. He is no longer guarding his food, bones or toys from our other dog and we have a system in letting people enter the house without him being territorial. Lilli checks in periodically and happily takes our dog if we go away. I am so happy we found Lilli at Suburban K9.

Highly recommend!!! We purchased the board and train plus package and we are so happy with the results thus far. My golden doodle is 9 mos old and had been to a board and train previously with disappointing results and no follow up. As first time dog owners, we tried everything we knew at home to improve our dog’s behavior. I was at the point of giving up as I watched him tear up my carpet, rip my couch, and chew holes in my dry wall. I felt desperate and called Suburban K9. They put my mind at ease immediately and gave me hope that they could help us. We love our dog and felt obligated to invest in this service for him. We had Tiffany take our dog, Kobe, for two weeks. I loved that she sent me updates and photos regularly. Kobe has come home a different dog- not only does he listen, he also seems so much more loving and happy. I’m looking so forward to working with Tiffany at our follow ups, she is our angel! I can’t recommend this service enough; it was truly life changing!!!

Our family would highly recommend Alex Chadesh for in-home dog training. We called Suburban K-9 because our three year old rescue hound mix Domino had become increasingly protective of our home and yard. The isolation of the pandemic seemed to make his issues worse. He had a few incidents of aggressive barking at neighbors in adjoining yards which was what pushed us to seek training. Domino is an anxious dog who is afraid of most men. Alex really met Domino and us where we were and was flexible and able to address our concerns at all stages of the process. At first Domino was very scared and reactive around Alex and we needed to muzzle train him for Domino's and Alex's protection. Alex explained the methods of Suburban K-9 (primarily the use of a training collar and corrections) very thoroughly and though we had initial doubts about the training collar we saw how effective and safe it was to train Domino. After two sessions Domino was doing so well we didn't need the muzzle and we made significant progress on the issues we wanted to address. You do need to practice the tools and techniques with your dog in-between sessions for the training to be the most effective but after four sessions with Alex we feel very confident that we have the tools, foundation and confidence to help Domino in any difficult situation we may encounter.

Highly recommend! Having Alex as our personal dog trainer to coach us through the difficult puppy times, as well as being able to train our dog in our own environment, has been invaluable. Well worth the investment. Thank you so much!

We enlisted the help of Salina with Suburban K-9 for our incredibly energetic Brittany Spaniel. The barking was nonstop, walks were a nightmare, and we had no idea what to do with this boundless energy. We opted for the board & train (if only to get a week of peace back at home) with the in-home lessons following. Enlisting the help of Suburban K-9 was the best decision we ever made- Salina was prompt, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. We learned the why behind our dog's behaviors as well as what to do to improve or correct them. Now we can walk off leash at a smart heel, his barking is massively improved, he comes when called with other dogs/people around along- things I've only ever seen dogs do on tv are things my dog can do! He is happy now that he knows what we need from him, and we are happy that his behaviors are no longer causing friction in the family. All our future dogs will be trained with the help of Suburban K9!

My wife and I were expecting our first child, and ever since we moved into our new home our dogs were acting territorial. Knowing that the baby was coming, and wanting to be a better neighbor, we called several dog training services and Suburban K9 was by far the best choice. We had Brooke, and I would highly recommend her. She was very flexible and great with our dogs right off the bat. I cannot begin to describe the night and day difference. We are now happy parents with happy dogs, and our neighbors no longer feel like they have to avoid the fence line. Brooke was instrumental in the turnaround for our pups. If you're looking for a good training service/trainer, I hope this review makes it to you. Money well spent.

We adopted a dog from the humane society, who was fairly well behaved except for walks. We decided to add a puppy to our household several months later, which proved challenging. The puppy was resource guarding food, would bite members of the house (including 10 year old daughter). My husband and I discussed whether we could keep the puppy given the issues we were seeing. We decided to invest in training, and met with several trainers and different methodologies - we found Suburban K9 was by far the best. Training a dog is definitely an investment of time, and I feel that having an expert helped me be more effective on my own and allowed us to immediately address the issues we saw. I do not think we would have kept the puppy if we had not contacted Suburban K9, even with attending puppy training classes. I feel more confident in how to work with my dogs now, and enjoy them more.

Our 8 month old German Shepherd needed training, mostly for manners. She completed the 2 week board and train with Salina. Salina was great, very professional and knowledgeable. Nebula now knows all her basic commands. She is much easier to take on walks and listens throughout the day. We are very happy with Suburban K9 training and have already recommended them to friends and family.

I had a fantastic experience with Suburban K9. Alex did a great job with my 6 month old lab, and I noticed results after the first session. Within just a couple of lessons we had all the basic commands down. Not only are they great at training the dog, but also giving you proper instruction on your technique with correction, discipline, and rewarding. Highly Recommend!
