WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING
- Highly recommend Suburban K9 Dog Training with Evan! He was super patient with our sassy and stubborn husky dog, Milo whom we rescued several months ago. From day 1 to our last session, Milo has become a lot more manageable when it comes to walking. Being only shy of five years, he has a lot of energy and is super strong and it wouldn't be fun walking with him, especially in the cold icy weather. Working with Evan, was a great experience. He would always ask what we wanted to work on each time we met, asked how Milo was doing and would give us the weekly homework assignments to practice. Evan was calm and patient with us and Milo and making sure everyone knew what to do and how to make proper corrections. Would recommend anyone who needs training to work with Evan. Thank you Evan!read moreread lessLoriAnne NelsonLiliana is an amazing trainer at K9 dog training & I highly recommend working with her! My 4 year old dog had a lot of behavior problems that made it difficult for me to have guests in my home. Within 4 sessions my dog is so well behaved and much more calm. I’m amazed at the difference in her behavior and so grateful for Liliana’s expertise. It felt like Liliana cared just as much as I did about my dogs success and reaching the goals that I had for her behavior changes. In our first session she asked me many questions to help clarify what my true goals were for our 5 sessions together. I feel those goals have been met since we started working together and I’m very grateful for the time, care, and skills that Liliana brought to each session.read moreread lessThe W.I couldn't recommend Nick and Suburban K9 enough! I worked with Nick during my 10-session package for my dog, Clark. He was able to build great trust with Clark immediately through obedience training, which was the foundation of the rest of the sessions we spent on more advanced behavioral issues. I saw almost an immediate change in my little guy and improvements day to day on his issues (re: door manners, counter surfing, and barking). I really appreciated Nick's knowledge about dogs and his ability to explain to me the "WHY" behind everything he does.read moreread lessGrace Dolot
- After dealing with Heartworm and a move, our dog Bones, a 2-year old pitbull/mix of everything was super stressed out and behaving unusually. We came to Suburban K9 with a list of things we wanted to work on with Bones, and by the end of our 10 lessons Bones has become a better dog than we could ever have dreamed! From the first session our trainer Evan took an interest in Bones & it was clear he cared about helping Bones become the best dog he can be. In the future we will be quick to recommend Evan & Suburban K9 to anyone is looking to get training for their dog!read moreread lessJacob A.Trusting your dog’s training with Suburban K9 couldn’t be any easier! In 2019 we searched for the right trainer for a new puppy, after trying 3 other companies we finally found Holly at Suburban K9 in Chicago’s North Shore. We loved Holly so much, that when we got two more puppies over the last 4 years, we just knew we needed Holly, and she’s been with us each step of the way. Holly is a natural when it comes to training, she has an individualized approach based on all 3 of our dog’s personalities and different behaviors. Holly does an excellent job of balancing her client’s needs and expectations with their dog’s training. She treats our dogs like they were her own and we really love the socialization our dogs get from meeting other pups she is working with or when she has her sweet Anakin with her! She goes above and beyond! She is always available if we have a question or want to share our progress with her. Thank you, Holly, and Suburban K9 for taking the stress out of dog training and making it a fun and enjoyable thing for us and our 3 dogs!read moreread lessAleksandra N.We are so happy we used Samantha and Suburban K9 Dog training! They fit us in on a tight timeline, provided us with high-yield training and tips, and ensured their lessons met our dog's specific needs. - Money well spent! Addison is amazing. He helped us and our puppy. We rescued our puppy and within the first week of being home, we knew we needed some support. He was scared of everything and it was impossible to do any training because of that. We opted for a board and train package. He came back a new dog! He had confidence and overall, seemed happier. He learned obedience skills and his potty training issues had almost completely resolved! Addison was thorough and gave us the skills to continue on with training and skill building with our dog. We’d do this again without hesitation.read moreread lesscatie l.
- Wonderful training services out of Chicago! Excited to see them coming to Columbus. 🐕read moreread lessBrent D.Cooper and Abby, our 5 months old adopted puppies were a large challenge for our household. Being older adults, we were very apprehensive about taking on this challenge. We really want our puppies to develop into friendly, social and obedient companions. Having Holly and Doug, our Suburban K-9 trainers, work with our puppies and us over the past two months has shown the potential for success and how to make it happen. They are professionals with amazing experience and ideas, combined with energy, discipline and compassion. We are beyond happy that we signed up for the Year Plus In Home Training program. We highly recommend Suburban K-9 for making your dog or dogs a great part of your family. Thank you, Holly and Doug!!read moreread lessDeborah C.Our family used Nick Smoots (Chicago area location) to help socialize and train our rescue lab/shepard mix, Lily. Nick was honest about how much work Lily would need but did not oversell us. She had been very poorly socialized before coming to live with us and struggled with the effects of litter mate syndrome. I appreciate Nick’s direct approach for dog training. He identified her trouble areas and helped train Lily (and me) on how to be out in the world or have guests to our home safely and happily. We worked on recall, basic commands and walking nicely as well as LOTS of socialization with people in public and at home and with other dogs. I have owned dogs in the past but felt very overwhelmed with Lily’s needs as she was very scared and that fear maybe her seem aggressive. I now feel safe and excited to have guests to my home and take my dog on adventures and run errands. She is happier too! It was a great experience working with Nick!read moreread lessSarah M.
- I recently contacted Suburban K9 for help getting my 3yo German shepherd to be less reactive on walks as well as introducing her properly to my newly adopted cats. I was able to work with Brooke. She was able to see my situation at my home and give me a specific plan that would work best with my dogs demeanor and personality. I’ve already seen great progress on both the walking and the introduction process. I’m very hopeful that I can meet my goals with the tools that she gave me. I will definitely go with Suburban K9 for future training. They understand that every dog and situation is different and apply that to the training methods.read moreread lessStephanie S.Molly was fabulous with training Sammi our 2 year old Frenchton who joined our family with Hannah a 7 yr old King Charles-she trained us on how to walk & better manage a calm dog with a very energetic younger pup. Her personality & lessons were extremely beneficial.read moreread lessCheryl VeilleuxOur experience with Brooke J. was wonderful. She lovingly and confidently helped our new pitbull puppy acclimate to her role in our family as "little sister" to our 8-year-old Lab as well as loyal companion to our 4- and 6-year-olds. She was always willing to schedule "in between" sessions when we would have an incident early on in training that warranted some more immediate attention (resource guarding, food aggression, threshold training). And she even went above and beyond to help teach my children appropriate handling and commands so we could ALL enjoy the boundless love of our new family member. She had helpful insights into our pup's behaviors and educated US as well as our pup -- worth every penny and minute spent! THANK YOU, BROOKE!read moreread lessKate P.
- We did the 10 lesson house visit 1-on-1 training and it has been great. Gracie is patient with us, new dog owners, and our young beagle responds well to her training.read moreread lessAvalon LeiatauaWe contacted Suburban K9 to help with training our very sweet but very strong and very stubborn 90 pound, two year old Golden Retriever puppy. We worked with Holly Wengerski and we thought she was terrific. Admittedly, at first I thought she might be too tough (this is our first dog so we have no point of reference) but I very quickly realized that Holly had sized up how Ranger "operated" and in order to achieve the training goals we had for him (better walks- no pulling on the leash and dragging us along, stopping and refusing to walk, coming (the first time) when we call him, not charging at guests when they come to our front door, sitting and staying etc.) we had to be tough. We had several sessions with Holly, and though it was quite expensive, I believe it was money well spent. Appointments were easy to set up, Holly was always on time (early in fact), and each session I felt was very productive- she seems to have a great understanding of how dogs think and behave. We spent time in our backyard, walking in the neighborhood, at the beach, and at Hollyfeed practicing the skills in "real world" situations/environments. For several of the sessions we even had Holly's dog accompany us to help Ranger along with his training. Holly would then send an email with "homework" to practice. I think Holly is a great trainer, and after working with her, I am a much more confident dog owner and Ranger is a much better behaved dog.read moreread lessAllison QuackenbushWe are so happy with our training from Addison! Working at Suburban K9 is a dream job, but it is still a job! We like to be as transparent as possible with our future and current employees about the requirements of the job. We do not have any training facilities. We work with dogs in the environments where problems arise, such as homes, stores, and parks. Because of this, local travel is necessary and we require our trainers to have a valid driver’s license and a dependable vehicle.
