We had a stubborn German Shepherd puppy on our hands. A call to Suburban K9 Dog Training and a match to Addison Reed who has alot of knowledge of the breed. We couldn't have asked for a better trainer. Addison was a perfect match for Jaxs. Addison worked with us so we could work with Jaxs. My pocket bully used to be a handful – always reacting and aggressive, making walks a nightmare. Thanks to Suburban K9, she's like a different dog now. Walks are a joy, lasting over 2 miles, and she's chill around other dogs. Even strangers, especially men, don't bother her anymore. In the elevator, she behaved so well that our neighbor, who she almost bit before, thought she was sedated! Big thanks to Suburban K9 for turning my second dog into a good girl, just like they did with Chuck, my first. Grateful for you all!

We are so happy with our training from Addison! Our GSD Josie is doing so much better! Her behavior started changing after the first lesson! She is a happier and more well behaved dog and we are able to take her out and take her anywhere now! 5 stars!! Definitely recommend Addison!

Money well spent! Addison is amazing. He helped us and our puppy. We rescued our puppy and within the first week of being home, we knew we needed some support. He was scared of everything and it was impossible to do any training because of that. We opted for a board and train package. He came back a new dog! He had confidence and overall, seemed happier. He learned obedience skills and his potty training issues had almost completely resolved! Addison was thorough and gave us the skills to continue on with training and skill building with our dog. We’d do this again without hesitation.

We did a Board and Train for my brand new puppy Henri with Addison Reed. Addison is amazing. Not only did Addison do a fantastic job teaching Henri the basics, he gave me the tools needed to reinforce all that Henri had learned during his stay. It’s been several months since our initial training, and the commands are still in use. I couldn’t recommend Addison and the Suburban K9 team more!

I have a 4 year old GSD named Lyla who had the pleasure of experiencing SK9 and their wonderful staff (specifically Addison Reed) for extensive training. Before Suburban K9, Lyla had been through three additional training programs and I had almost given up all hope as a dog mom. Addison welcomed the challenge and was there not only for Lyla, but also for me through every single step of the journey. Lyla couldn’t walk on a leash, couldn’t go to the dog park, refused to drop a ball while playing and I will embarrassingly admit that she ignored every command that came out of my mouth. I wish I could post a video instead of just a picture of Lyla for anyone reading this review who is on the fence regarding training with SK9. She is no longer reactive with other dogs, she’s patient (for a high drive shepherd), she has manners (she doesn’t even steal food off of plates anymore when left unattended), she heels and stays on command and she can finally ride in a car without anxiety. All of these things were corrected by training with Addison. Lyla, her brother and I could not be more grateful! We are so happy that we found Suburban K9 dog training for our Rhodesian Ridgeback. As first time dog owners, we needed help to teach our puppy how to heel, walk without pulling, sit, come, lay down, stay, follow house rules, etc. Addison did a fantastic job teaching both us and our dog so that we are now able to manage our 90lb RR! I would highly recommend Addison!

Addison is a wonderful dog trainer and highly recommend him! If you are looking for a dog trainer, he's the one you want! He's a dog expert! We started looking for training when our Cane Corso puppy was showing some very dominant and not so good puppy behaviors. We bought the year package. Although it was pretty expensive, it was worth every penny. Our trainer Addison really whipped him into shape fast. I still can't believe how fast we saw results. Our now at least 80 pound dog walks perfectly by our side and never pulls. He sits, lays down, and stays for long periods so I can get things done around the house. He also comes when he is told to do so. Addison moved after about 4 months into our package but another great trainer Sabrina took over. This company really knows their stuff!

Addison Reed was our trainer for our 11month old English cream golden retriever Willie. We did the two week board & train. Addison was an amazing trainer!! I was so impressed with Addison & K9 Suburban! He worked wonders with Willie.The Willie that came home to us is like a different dog! He kept us apprised every other day with pictures & was very detailed on Willie’s progress. He also answered any questions we had very thoroughly & was so patient & kind. The training program also includes a go home lesson & a follow up lesson which is so very helpful & Addison was willing to answer any questions we had even after. We were almost ready to give up on Willie but with Addison’s help & incredible training skills we now have the tools to continue to work with Willie. I highly recommend Addison & K9 Suburban!! My 2 year old pup, Nash, struggled with an array of issues including, in short, dominant tendencies, toy obsession, and trouble with leash walking. His obsessive behavior relating to his toys made him unable to do anything else throughout the day other than play and eat. Before working with Suburban K9, Nash would bark, jump, scratch, and tug at our clothing all day long to get us to play with him. We were unable to take toys away from him or walk away because it increased his frustration and led to aggression. I tried working with several different trainers, behaviorists, and my veterinarian and nothing seemed to work. I honestly had no where else to turn until I found Suburban K9. After just one session with our trainer, Nash was showing major improvements! I remember after my first in home visit, I was able to sit on the couch with Nash and watch television, which is something I haven’t been able to do since he was a puppy! The results just kept getting better as our training progressed. We signed up for the year long 30-day package which includes 30 in-home training sessions dispersed throughout the year. We are about 1/3 of the way through our sessions and Nash’s behavior is night and day. He is able to hold a sit in place for up to 40 minutes, he sits and lays down on command, we are able put toys away without him getting aggressive, and we are able to walk him so much better than before. He definitely still needs some work, but I can’t wait to see how much better his behavior gets throughout the year! If you choose Suburban K9 you will definitely not regret it! My only regret is not reaching out to them sooner!!

My experience with Suburban K9 Dog Training has been excellent. The trainer, Addison Reed, has an exceptional skill for training my 8 month old puppy. He has a confident, but gentle, way of handling the training sessions. He has been very helpful explaining and teaching me what he has instilled during his training. I would highly recommend his training skills to anyone who has the need.

Addison Reed is the epitome of a patient experienced dog trainer. He is greatly valued by me and my dog. When I called out for help; he came to our rescue in a nonjudgmental way. Addison worked diligently with my dog and myself teaching us how to enforce obedience and socialization. My dog is a rescue that I adopted. I could not even get a leash on her without her acting like a bucking Bronco. Addison never gave up. He taught me how to use obedient commands and corrections. I had to learn as much as the dog, we are both still gaining invaluable knowledge from him during each session. He explained how my dog’s dominant personality had to be put into check for success to take place. He was always available and willing to help with all areas of training. Addison showed me how to get my dog in the car, into the basement and many other useful techniques. I have great respect for him and his expertise. Thank you, Addison!

Addison is absolutely fantastic and has made such a difference in a very short period of time with our 10 month old, Ranger. Ranger was adopted just after Christmas and although a good boy overall, he did have some issues (reactivity, resource guarding, nipping). We have a two year old child that is half Ranger’s size and doesn’t fully grasp boundaries yet. Under those circumstances, we felt that it was imperative that we get Ranger into training and tackle any issues that he may have immediately. We opted to do the 2 week board and train with Suburban K9/Addison and I cannot even begin to tell you just how much of a dramatic difference it made. It was like night and day, and exceeded all expectations. We went from having a good dog to a great dog. Instant obedience, no more leash pulling, and substantial improvement in his comfort with other dogs and reactivity -on leash and off. I will say that while the board and train did wonders for Ranger, it is not a fix all. Two weeks is a relatively short period of time for any dog, but we were just so impressed with what Addison was able to accomplish that we have continued our training sessions with him even after board and train. We see improvement in Ranger every single time we have Addison out to work with him/ us. I have taken Ranger out and about as part of our daily training walks and it is always such a source of pride when folks comment on how wonderful and well behaved he is. I also have so much more trust with him playing with our daughter without knocking her over or doing any puppy nips. He is great with her and they have become fast friends. I can not say enough good things about Addison and Suburban K9- they are a great team and we have really enjoyed working with Addison in particular and getting to know him. Addison is very warm, patient and informative. We have all learned so much from working with him, and I highly recommend.

Addison has worked wonders with my 8 month old husky/cattle dog Zuko! I adopted Zuko at 13 weeks and after a few months, realized I was going to need help training him since my roommate was due to have a baby soon and we wanted him to be as well-mannered as possible. I initially was going to go with the 3 week board and train option. However, after discussing my situation and what I wanted to get out of our training experience, I decided to go with the one year house call option instead. Addison was super helpful and informative in helping me make a decision that would be the most beneficial to not only Zuko, but to everyone else in my household. Since then we have made so much progress! Zuko is doing great in learning his basic obedience commands. He no longer bites at the leash when we go on walks, his socializing with other dogs and people is coming along beautifully, and his counter surfing is down to a bare minimum. All of this in the first three months of our one year package! Addison has done such a great job so far in not only teaching Zuko, but in teaching myself as well. Especially on how to maintain what Zuko has been learning and how to work through any behavioral issues that may arise. We both have learned such a great deal from Addison and I can’t wait to see what the end result will look like! I have no doubt that Zuko will be the best well-mannered boy and I can’t thank Addison enough for helping us get there!
