Amber and Christie from Suburban K9 have done wonders with my pup Stella. I did the 3 week board and train with them. Before she went I was so stressed out with her. I would call her crazy Stella because she had so much crazy energy, would attention bark with me only, jump on people , pull on the leash and other things. Needed help with having her learn commands and listening to me.Was not sure if I should do the 3 weeks because it was not cheap for me….but let me tell you it was well worth it. She is so much better now and others even notice the difference. Would highly recommend!!!!!

Amber has been absolutely amazing to work with! Our dog Leo had major leash aggression issues, making walks stressful and challenging for me and my wife. We have been using suburban K9 for a year now. We have used both the at home training and board and train programs. Amber is one of the most amazing trainers we have used. We have 5 large husky shepherd mix dogs all different ages, and personalities. She has been very intentional in all of their training, pin pointing and focusing on each individual dog and them as a pack. We have had amazing success in their ability to walk on a leash without pulling and their overall coexisting at home. I never thought I would be able to walk all 5 at once but we have gotten there with her guidance. She cares deeply for our dogs and their well being and it shows in her work.

We had a wonderful experience with Suburban K9 this past fall, and we can’t recommend them enough! We are so grateful for our trainer, Jason, who is patient, observant, helpful, optimistic, and responsible. He tailors his training to the individual personalities of dogs and owners to create lasting change. Through several weeks of lessons followed by two weeks of Board and Train, our loving but anxious senior dog had a couple of awesome breakthroughs with patterns she had been struggling with for years, particularly in interactions with new people and dogs as well as basic commands and crate training. She was even able to come to our wedding reception with Jason’s supervision, which was a dream come true for us!When we hired Jason, he picked up right away that our dog wanted to be more social but didn’t really know how. While good with the familiar, her typical reaction to new people and dogs was to get defensive and bark loudly, which made knocks on the door or encounters with other dogs stressful. Jason was great at reading our dog’s behavior and then communicating to us what to look for. He gave us routines and boundaries for various situations, practiced them with us, and assigned homework that solidified the training (definitely do the homework and keep up the routines after training!). It was such a relief for us and our dog to know what to do, and we formed an even stronger bond with her. The training has made a huge difference for our dog and us, and we would absolutely hire Jason again in the future!

Amber worked with us and our 7 month old puppy earlier this year (August), doing the 2 week board and train. We're now a few months out of the initial training and I cannot express how incredible the experience has been. During the board/train, we received great updates and communication (including pictures!) . Amber really took the time to listen to our specific needs and tailor her program to us and our dog - noting what our goals were and specific issues that come up in our lifestyle, etc. Upon coming home, we've had our follow up lessons (so helpful) and Amber is so wonderful in answering any questions that come up or providing advice/guidance on things that come up. Our pup (now 11 months old) gets to enjoy off leash walks through the trails, running free in fields, and joining us out at bars/restaurants. We truly cannot imagine a better trainer and feel so grateful that we worked with this company, and specifically Amber. If you're considering training, definitely go for it! You will be so glad you did.

**Five stars for Suburban K9 Dog Training!** I recently enrolled my dog in a board and train at Suburban K9 Dog Training, and I am so glad I did! She was a handful before we started training, but now he is a much more well-behaved and obedient dog. Amber is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. They also took the time to get to know my dog individually and tailor the training to her specific needs. In just a few weeks, she learned to sit, stay, come, and walk nicely on a leash. She also learned how to control her impulses and behave better in public. I am so impressed with the progress she has made, and I am confident that she will continue to be a well-behaved dog thanks to the training he received. I highly recommend Suburban K9 Dog Training to anyone looking for a professional and effective way to train their dog. The trainers are amazing, and the results are undeniable.

I cannot praise our trainer Amber enough for her exceptional work with our 1.5 yr old German Shepherd/Husky Mix Bruce. We sought Amber's help to address several behavioral issues that he was struggling with, including jumping, mouthing, and respecting personal space with both humans and small dogs. After a two-week board and train program, followed by the three at-home training sessions, Bruce has undergone a remarkable transformation - all thanks to Amber's expertise and dedication. From the very beginning, her professionalism and passion for her work shone through. Amber and her own dogs (especially Gir) took Bruce under their wings during the board and train program and engaged him in various fun activities like shopping and going to restaurants at The Domain and visiting parks. The daily updates and photos she sent us throughout the process helped ease any concerns we had and made us feel comfortable and completely confident in the program. After completing the board and train, Amber's skills truly impressed us during the at-home training sessions. She patiently demonstrated how to reinforce Bruce's newly learned behaviors and commands, making sure that we could continue his progress at home. Amber's ability to effectively communicate the training techniques made it effortless for us to implement them with Bruce. We found Bruce in December 2022 and were just fostering him, but since his results were beyond our expectations, Bruce has officially become a part of our family. Without a doubt, Amber is a phenomenal dog trainer. Her passion, patience, and genuine care for the dogs she works with are truly commendable. We would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking professional dog training services. The investment was worth every penny, and we can't thank her enough for helping Bruce become a member of our family.

I can’t say enough about Amber and K9! I have 2 beautiful Rotties! I have had them in training since they were 6 months old and one of them is 2 1/2 and the other 1 1/2 years. They are so well behaved on and off leash. The knowledge I have now is priceless. With Zeus, I started with in home training once a week as I had more time. With Tank, I started with a 2 week board and train then in home with both together as I didn’t have enough free time. Both are great options! Thank you Amber! I love how good my boys are as they go everywhere with me! I highly recommend K9!

They where really helpful with my rescue dog that had aggressive reactions towards other dogs. Now I can take her out to the park without problems. They where very accomodating to adapting the training to our specific problem.

Before Luna went for training she was so crazy, jumping on everything and everyone, lots of nipping and stealing so many items. We talked to Amber on the phone before booking and loved that our dog stays in a home and not a kennel. We decided on a Board and Train program with Amber! Highly recommend! Amber sent us pictures and videos of our dogs progress during the two weeks. When she brought our dog back home we got our homework and showed us everything that she taught our dog and advice on how to be successful coming back home. Luna was so calm! We were amazed! Luna listened so well and kept her happy, waggy personality and is more cuddly now because she is able to calm down. Amber also checked in on us a week after Luna came home and several weeks after Luna came home to make sure we weren't struggling with anything. I love seeing that Luna is also so excited to see Amber. We know she truly cares about Luna like we do and Luna loves her too. We already asked about a vacation stay with Amber in the future! Two of our neighbors already commented on how well behaved Luna is that is my favorite thing other people are noticing! My sister signed up for a board and train with her her dog this spring! I recommend Suburban K9 and Amber to everyone!

Jason and Amber have been an amazing duo, and have helped our family tremendously! For context, we have an 8 month old German Shepard who’s been with us for 5-6 months. We quickly realized he would need more specific training than anything we could find to guide us online, as he was very fearful of men, any loud noises such as buses and trucks, and we could not have many guests over for fear of him jumping or peeing when overly excited. We tried so hard to train him ourselves, and when we finally called around for training services, we were met with short, cold calls just trying to book us with little info. We came across Suburban K-9 on Google and gave them a call. We knew immediately that they truly cared, as we spoke in detail with two representatives the same day. They made sure to ask tons of questions to get a real feel for our dog Diesel’s needs, and even offered a consultation to help us decide what the best training options for him were. We purchased the 10-session in-home package and it has made a world of a difference. Diesel can now walk loose leash in a tight heel, he can down stay off leash in public, and he has nearly zero reactivity to strangers and dogs when we’re walking. He’s gained so much confidence that he can meet and play with other dogs, and greet guests politely! These are things we could not achieve before meeting Jason and Amber. These trainers truly know what they are doing! We have felt from day one that they genuinely care about the safety and well being of our dog and us! Walking Diesel used to be such a stressful chore, and now it’s a huge joy to walk him around the neighborhood, as well as see him interact with our family and friends. We don’t know how else we could have done it without you guys! A big thank you for working diligently to gain Diesel’s trust and help us gain confidence as his handlers! We truly cannot rave about this company enough, and we highly encourage anyone with a dog to reach out! They are so professional and knowledgeable, and follow up via text/email regularly. This was some of the best money we have ever spent! Our dog is energetic and seemed in charge of us. At 90 pounds there isn't a lot you can do without training. We had problems leaving through the front door because he'd try to run out. Couldn't eat if you were sitting on the couch because he'd be practically in your lap, and the same at the table. Walks were exhausting for the humans and he was still restless afterwards. Fast forward 3 months and he is a changed dog! Still have plenty of practice to go, but thanks to Kira he listens and obeys, and we know how to exercise him so that he is not bored. She listened and asked questions to understand his personality and behavior and then adjusted the training to our highest need areas, like certain areas of the house where he acted up most and things like us being able to walk out the door. An added bonus is that because of the structure he's got now, he's not crying while we are gone anymore. We are so grateful to Kira for making us and the dog happier!

I can’t say enough AMAZING things about Jason and Amber and their incredible help with my now 7 month old Standard Poodle, Roo. Jason and Amber started working with Roo when she was 5 months old as she was incredibly anxious in cars (would make herself sick), was very nervous meeting anyone or any dog, hated the kennel, counter surfed, some other basic puppy behaviors, and ended up eating something outside that she wouldn’t drop which nearly cost her, her life. Jason and Amber are both incredibly educated, as well as truly caring people and trainers. They met Roo with love but firm boundaries and guidance, and helped us do the same and still do! Roo has blossomed and gained so much confidence and enjoyment for life, and seeing that is so amazing! She is now being trained to be my service dog and I feel so confident (which I didn’t before) that she is ready for that job now that they have helped and continue to help with small, non-major things. We have so many people stop us on the street complimenting Roo and how well behaved she is for a puppy, and we always have to boast about Jason and Amber! We are so thankful for both of them and can’t recommend them enough.

Jason and Amber worked wonders with our 9 month old mini-Dachshund, Olive. She had a serious thievery streak and barked for 20 minutes each time anyone came into our home. To add to that she refused to come when she was called, even for food. Jason took her for 16 days and worked all the major "kinks" out. When she came home, we got our homework assignements and worked everyday. Jason came over three additional times to work with us where we were struggling and impliment the next steps for her progress. She is a changed puppy thanks to him. He admitted she was a difficult case which made me feel less a failure! Call Jason, he's Austin's very own dog whisperer. He's welcome in our guest room anytime he wants.

We sent our 5 month old German shepherd to Suburban K9 for a 2 week board and train. He came back a completely different dog and was so well behaved. We were completely blown away. Our trainer, Amber kept us updated every day with pictures and videos of his training & progress. My fiancé wasn’t at our go home session so she graciously offered to come back and do another go home and teach my fiancé, on top of our 2 follow ups! Kota was doing so so good until about 8 months old, he started showing signs of reactivity around strangers, kids, and other dogs. This was completely new. We wanted to get this under control ASAP so I reached out to Amber and she responded so quickly and started training with us again. We had many training sessions out in public and around the house and he has come SUCH a long way. He went from not being able to go out in public at all, to being able to manage his reactivity/stress and start to enjoy public places. I don't think this is something we could have overcome or been able to manage without her. Because of how amazing Amber had been for us and Kota, we decided to send our older german shepherd to her for a 2 week board and train as well. Now both of our dogs are very well behaved and we get compliments all the time from people about their behavior. We continue to use Amber and Suburban K9's board and train when we go on trips instead of boarding our dogs anywhere else. We couldn't recommend them (especially Amber) enough!!

My experience with working with Suburban K9 Dog Training was an absolute life changing experience for me and my Golden Retriever, Bella. Our trainer, Amber, was Awesome, so patient, loving and kind. She helped us so much, because of the lessens Suburban K9 provided to Bella and I, we can have guests over, go places and have a life together, before training all this was not possible. We are extremely grateful and so very happy together!! We would highly recommend Suburban K9, they are the best.
