Lesson #1
In the first lesson, we went out and adjusted Spader to the prong collar and worked on turns. Salina (trainer) showed Diane’s sister how to work with Spader when she leaves because she has separation anxiety.
Lesson #2
During the second lesson, we worked on healing in the house and sitting while allowing us to reach down and pet her. Spader is very fearful of people, so this was very hard for her! It took a long time to build up that trust, but we have seen a lot of movement in the right direction just after these two lessons!
Lesson #3
Over the last three lessons, we have seen many strides in the right direction! We were able to teach her how to do the “down” command indoors! We transitioned outdoors and practiced this command, but Spader was still a little nervous and did not want to listen to all the commotion that comes with being outside! We have noticed that Spader is getting more comfortable with her kennel and is not anxious when Diane leaves!
Lesson #4
Lesson four started out as a refresher! We refreshed her on all the commands she knows and added the come command to her list of skills! She is also getting so much better when it comes to the down and sit commands outdoors! During this lesson, we even were able to remove Spader’s muzzle and her trainer, Salina, was able to work closely with her! She did have a slight moment when she got nervous but did well and controlled herself!
