Dogs and Education have been a part of Erin’s life since she was born. Both of her parents were teachers with a strong love and respect for dogs and animals of all kinds. They made sure that they instilled that in Erin at an early age. Erin taught at a high school for 10 years. after which she worked in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis geared mainly toward working with individuals with Autism. With both of these jobs Erin knew that something was missing, her love for animals. To fill that void Erin began working at a dog daycare, she played with hundreds of dogs every week which allowed her to practice her behavior knowledge and she knew she was headed in the right direction. She is excited to work with Suburban K9 to continue her passion of working with dogs and helping all families with their furry family member.
Erin has also volunteered with Love of Labs and has helped 9 Foster dogs find their forever home. While she could have kept each and every one, knowing they had loving homes and being able to help another dog in need was the most rewarding thing. Erin also volunteers and coaches the Girls Rugby team at North Central High School. While always competing for the State Championship every year, it’s seeing the players grow and gain confidence that keeps her going back.
